School Uniform

We ask parents and carers to support our school uniform policy and to ensure that pupils look smart for school.  We think that the uniform is affordable with the majority of items such as trousers, skirts, pinafores, summer dresses, tights etc. being available from a range of outlets.  The school coat is nice and warm and represents good value for money.

Uniform helps to unite the children as members of Lady Elizabeth Hastings’ School; encourages them to be proud of the school they represent; helps to avoid peer pressure and distractions relating to clothing and accessories and enables children to look the same regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds; and helps families have a smooth start to the day with no debates about what children are going to wear.

To help us manage in restricted space, school book bags (KS1) and document bags (KS2) are requested as these sit tidily on school pegs and can be put in storage boxes in class.

Children are not allowed to wear jewellery in school with the exception of watches and stud earrings, in newly pierced ears only.   Plasters or surgical tape needs to be used to cover newly pierced ears and earrings during PE.  Children may wear a watch to school and this may be useful for helping them to learn to tell the time.  Watches need to be removed for PE.  Children are responsible for looking after their watches and school is not responsible for loss or damage.

Uniform with the LEH logo on is available to order Kool Kidz in Wetherby and APC clothing in Tadcaster.
